Security Forces or Aircraft Loadmaster?

Marco Stolarz: Aircraft Loadmaster....You'll be part of aircrew.ASVAB scores will determine what job you you'll get....the higher the more chances of you getting it.DONT do SF.........IF you do decide it, it's going to be a long ride.......I'll spare you the gruesome details about the career field...Let me know, if you have any Q? about SF in detail.....EDIT: On the ASVAB what is your MAGE score, not the overall, give the break down score on each subject.SF, it's not just 12 hr shifts, it's more like 14 hrs. it's 12 hrs on post (Duty), you need to show up early for arming up (Getting your gun), then its guard-mount (Roll call), then it's on a shuttle car/bus to drop you off at each post, or a patrol car, or flight line. Some duties are.Flight-line=sitting in a car on the flight line looking at aircraft all day, OR entry control on the flight line checking badges on who can enter to the aircraft.Nukes= guarding nukes....best friend did it for 4 yrs, he said it sucks..patrol! =what everyone wants to do......drive around on baseWSA=Weapon Storage Area, standing in front of a huge vault door, or entry control checking badges.Shred outs are Combat Arms (CATM)= Firearms InstructorsK-9= dog handlerIf you like hard crap, you can request in tech school to go to the 820th, they get to train for Ranger,Counter Sniper/Sniper, Parachute, Pathfinder, Air Assault, and others.....BUT it's hard physically....EDIT:L3ABR1A231 048BBasic Loadmaster - Undergraduate Flying Training LOCATION: Lackland AFB (Tech Trng) OWNER CODE: 0JTT LENGTH: 20 Academic Days Course Description: This is the 3-level AFSC awarding course for AFSC 1A2x1, Aircraft Loadmaster. Jacinta Moitoso: Loadmaster hands down. You get paid to travel. You also get a little extra cash each month for flight pay. Both are bad if you have a family.

Mitchel Demry: Loadmaster, unless you're set on a law enforcement career. If not, then go aircrew. Most of the air force revolves around aircrew and pilots, obviously.Sf is not bad if u really want to be a cop. It can be rewarding. But this also means sitting 12 hour shifts guarding gates and other boring areas, long hours, getting yelled at for everything since you're held responsible, and usually stricter leadership, etc. As a young airmen, most hate it. If you're coming in with a goal of law enforcement, then maybe it's a good choice but...With a score of 94, the recruiter will probably try to steer you toward i! ntel. Be careful here, if that's not what u want. The bonuses make it t! empting, but stick to what u want. Never just pick something for the bonus....Show more

Janita Tetlow: I scored a 94 on my ASVAB. Any details on why SF is a bad choice would be great. :)

Talisha Digrande: Thanks for the answers so far. Will they put me out on a C-17 or C-5M Super Galaxy straight from tech training, or do they start the new guys lower and you work your way up to the larger aircraft. And, with security forces, do you start out going around in a patrol car, or do you start just checking IDs at a gate all day?
