People who glorify celebrities?

Sharee Doak: I have no idea, it's very very sad, i wish i could understand it, I do like some celebs, ones which stand for something and don't take themselves too serious i.e, Demi Lovato ( speaking about bullying), Emily blunt, Bradly Cooper, Sofia Vergra & Mila Kunis(don't take themselves too seriously and arn't shallow), Vanessa Hudgens (has recently put on a little weight and doesn't seem to give a f??k, go girl), Chelsea Handler (mocks celebs). The only explanation is most people are stupid, believe everything they read & can't form opinions for themselves. People = sheep!!!!...Show more

Danette Slotnick: They're like too huge fans of the celebs.

Coleman Coscia: Make it a bit easier: Why do people glorify a celebrity if they are a coke snorting druggie

Dalila Yoon: Because celebrities are painted out to be "larger than life." They are rich, famous, and "good-looking." These are what many people think is the best things to be. I also think the media p! lays a big part in celebrity glorification. Watch any gossip show, and they will always say that a certain celebrity is "fabulous," "gorgeous," "glamorous," "stylish," "chic," or "sexy." Bad words will rarely be used to describe a celebrity unless they are under media fire for some reason (I never got why Charlie Sheen was painted in such a bad light. He went out partying and took drugs. So what? More than half of Hollywood does that. Same with Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. Yes, they are stupid. But there are many other celebrities that are not exactly "Harvard material" that are never showed in such bad ways.)All in all, celebrity obsession pisses me off. I mean, they're just normal people. Some are stupider than average. And many are open about their hedonistic lifestyles and lack of actual morals. But what pisses me off even more than celebrity obsession are the people that take part in it. They never think for themselves or have a good reason why they like them so m! uch. Ask them why they like them so much, they'll give you a s! imple word that the media has used countless times to describe them. For example, ask a Lady Gaga fan why they like her so much. I guarantee that they'll say she is"innovative," "unique," or "different," when in fact she hasn't done anything new or different that somebody else hasn't already done (like Madonna or even people before her)....Show more
