Joaquin Dronko: Greetings! It is a bad thing to do for yourself. Especially if you are moving around. Questions you need to answer. Is he 18? Does he live at home? I can tell you now you might see a couple of payments if he has the spare money at that particular time. Then some emergency LOL will arise and he will miss payments. When you pressure him to pay, then he will claim a, what I call a liars beef, that the car was no good when you sold it to him. Then everyone thinks your the heel and he is the victim. If he is young, the only way I would do it is if his parents are up and up people. Then you will be surprised to how they answer you when you ask them to co-sign on the car for their kid. Hadon't do it put it on craigs list get your money and go!Good Luck...Show more
Shelley Stevens: Your friend does not have to make a single payment. Not one.Does not matter if you are in Tahiti or is living next to youTake that friend to a small credit union or bank and tell! her to get a loan for the carSmells like someone is trying to con you.Even if it's not a con, she/he will soon realize they don't have to payIf their credit is bad, or if they can't get a loan there is a reason !!!Why would you trust this person when banks won't go near her/him?What if that person loses their job - you can bet - no payments will be made...Show more
Gaylord Barragan: Paypal. It's a great solution to many issues like this. It's better than WU or mailing a check.
Antonia Quinnett: no matter how badly you need that money never ever EVER! DO PAYMENTS EVER cause it can lead to a very bad situation such as stealing your car or moving and never paying the rest off. pay pal or any means of wireless transfer is also a bad idea there's a reason its not recommended on Craigslist. if was you i would wait take the car when you move then sell or if you have enough time still sell the car where your at and get the cash there full in hand where you are now or! when you move and then sell still do the same get the CASH IN! FULL IN HAND!. or if you really want to get rid of it just sell it to a dealer ship. maybe not but its an idea....Show more
Olin Hallin: Nothing ever is a sure thing. But the way you can attempt to protect yourself is by a contract (plus on there put their drivers license number and state next to their name plus their address and have them sign). the contract should state how much you want, when, and what happens if it isn't paid on time (like you'd add interest) and if it's not paid after ? months then you will have someone pick up the car. then say the final date of when all payments should be paid. You can say that you will sue them if they don't pay by a certain day and there will be late fees, and that if not paid you will sue them in the state where you live at the time, and that they will pay court costs and your attorneys fees. The problem with a situation like this is that you can't sign over the title to the car until they pay in full therefore you wou! ld be responsible for any accidents, someone could sue you. And you won't know if they have their own insurance that covers them when driving. So I'd suggest that you tell them a figure you want for the car, suggest they get a bank loan or borrow from their family or credit card and see what they say. Otherwise keep the car and store it where you live in the future (in case your other car goes down and you need a ride to work) or turn it in when you buy your next new car. If you have a family member you might want to sell it to them cheap rather than pay the transport costs to move it to another state because you'd have to re-title it there, same as you would for your initial car (in that new state after three months) and that will cost you....Show more
Renato Abatiell: Bad ideal
Frank Crummell: Rule number one.... NEVER make any kind of financial arrangement with a friend. NEVER. Or a family member. EVER. Your friend must pay you in full, or not take the ca! r. He/she can take out a loan, or borrow from a family member, and the! n pay them off, but you must NOT do this. It is a mistake, and you WILL be sorry. the only way is to get all the money up front... you are a good friend if you understand that there is too much that can go wrong in this situation... being a friend does not mean that you HAVE to do things that are not wise....Show more
Logan Bero: tell them to borrow from a bank or credit union and that you need the cash for moving expenses.even local banks and car lots have troubles collecting all their accounts -- and they have experience doing it and a ready team of lawyers and repo men to take the car back. you have no experience, no attorney, and no repo man. don't do it.go to AutoMax instead and consider their all cash on the spot offer for your used car. it's probably more than the "friend" would end up paying anyway....Show more
Hermina Ketring: You can't. Tell them to make an all cash offer.
