You cannot survive off of only mock meats. Make sure you are getting your! protein through multiple sources. The best vegan source of protein is beans, which are not only high in protein, but low in calories. You also need to eat tofu, nuts, and whole grains. I ate fake meat and fake cheese sandwiches on toasted fancy bread with lettuce, sprouts, and tomatoes for about a year. YUM! There are also a billion websites out there with vegan recipes. You can make something for dinner and bring in the leftovers.
Otto Lingafelt: Nut mince is great and can be changed around to make different things and different things can be added . I once had the recipe but now it's guess work. Crush about a cup of peanuts. Place a little olive oil in a pan and saute one cho! pped onion a grated carrot several chopped mushrooms and a sta! lk of celery . Then add the nuts stirring then add some water about a cup full or a little more. Cook for several minutes then add about 4 tablespoons of rolled oats to thicken. with about half a cup of milk coconut or soy milk if you don't have milk Finish off by adding a chopped capsicum and flavouring such as some curry powder salt and pepper or tomato paste. This can be used as a mince or top with mash potatoes and brown under the grill . Any left overs can be added to cooked rice and turned in to patties. Most gravy powders have no meat in them even if they say chicken gravy on the packet there is no chicken in it. and I love stir fried onions and mushrooms with gravy made over them on top of vegetables such as mashed potato.
