Toys for a 3 year old?

Randall Twehous: children's books

Cassidy Pangrazio: No they hold less.. they are really for leaks and small accidents.Put extra sheets nearby and a rubber sheet under the bottom sheet to protect the mattress. Talk to your pediatrician about this, he shouldn't be soaking the bedevery night and in 6 months you can start potty training which means he will 'go' before bedtime.. and still make sure he wears the night time diaper until at least or 4 depending on if he can hold it until morning or not

Donte Liversedge: LEAP PAD!!!!!! They ROCK. My son learns so much from it, and it keeps him occupied. Also good computer games, like preschool stuff.

Marjory Stromme: Anytime a cough/symptoms cause a child to not be themselves, it's time for the doctor, IMO.If he has a loose cough that isn't producing any mucus, he might need something medicine wise to help him get the gunkies out.Good luck, and hope he feels better!...Show more

Minh Lefrancois: For a 3! year old Boy

Porfirio Gartland: A big set of wooden building blocks. That is what I bought my 3 year old daughter for Christmas, and she still plays with them all the time at 4.5

Randall Twehous: Im in the same boat my son turns four next month & has no idea what he wants for santa!!!Im sure at that age i had my letter already wriitten & sent away!!...lol

Aubrey Tirri: He should have been seen by a doctor a week ago.

Ruby Martis: First of all, a three year old is not manipulative in the sense we would use that word with an adult. They do not have the cognitive development or capacity to premeditate and plan the way an adult could. That being said, any three year old wants to get things their own way, and will be motivated to try to get adults to do what they like. It is extremely normal behavior. When playing, let the child call the shots. It is important that they feel like they have some level of control, and this is a good way to provide it. S! o during play, if he tells you to pretend to be such and such ! and to say this or that, just smile and humor him. If he is trying to get his way about something non-negotiable, then just tell him so. He can't tell you he won't brush his teeth, or won't go to bed, or won't see the doctor. Draw your boundaries carefully. Don't make a big deal out of something that isn't that big a deal, because you will spend all your time "correcting" behavior that is normal for that age....Show more

Roxane Leathers: Leapfrog makes learning toys for children of all ages; they're great, my niece loved hers when she was younger. Visit www.leapfrog.com to view all their products for different age groups.

Colby Millberg: My sister at might for my nephew used swimming dippers

Marti Declue: Training pants don't hold any urine at all. We're potty training our son right now and are keeping him in training pants during the day but diapers on him if we go out or at bedtime since pee soaks right through training pants and clothes, and any accid! ents would be contained in diapers. Now, you could put training pants over a diaper, and waterproof pads help a lot (The easiest ones to change out are the ones made for senior citizens because they're soft, flexible, easy to wash with the rest of your clothes, and quiet. Just get a few and put one right on top of the sheet and have him sleep on it.). Not giving him anything to drink a couple of hours before bed is a biggie, though. If you do give him something to drink, give him very little with promises that he can have more in the morning. There is also the option to get the smallest size of senior citizen diapers if you're desperate, but that seems unnecessary....Show more

Marya Fehn: Oh i have so many favorite ones i've boughten for casey all from the wonderful BabiesRus i reccemoend them.

Norris Rosener: Training pants usually hold less than night-time diapers, actually. Diapers are made for absorbing regular wetting, while training pants are just mean! t for the occasional accident. I recommend you keep him in regular diap! ers. But you need to switch brands, or possibly upgrade to a bigger size diaper. (Bigger sizes also hold more, but of course they'll still leak if they don't fit properly.) You might also want to invest in plastic sheets, like they have for older bedwetters, to protect the mattress in case of leaks.

Esteban Faggett: I just took my 17 month old in to the doctor for kind of the same thing, minus the cough. It seemed like he just wasn't getting better and the runny nose is non stop! My pediatrician said a good rule of thumb for a cold is about 14 days. If it is going beyond that, call to bring him in. I would just call your ped's office and ask for a nurse to call you back. That's what I did and the nurse said he should be seen. Unfortunately, my son just has a cold and is teething multiple teeth at the same time, so there wasn't anything the doctor could do. But I felt better knowing he was ok and didn't have an ear infection or something. They also listen to th! eir lungs closely for signs of pneumonia, so with the cough maybe not a bad idea to be on the safe side. They are not recommending any cough/cold medicines for little ones at this time. So there isn't anything you can give him. It is so hard with little ones because they can't tell you how they feel!...Show more

Boris Hadsall: The question is not to "make" a 3 year old like me. No one can force a person or a toddler to like you. I know that.My bf and I are both 25 years old. He has a son of 3 years old. I've been with him for 1 year and I see his son at least once a week. We live together. It's funny to me to say but his son is very manipulative and my boyfriend knows it.His son wants to control me. He wants to tell me when to speak, or to laugh or do whatever. He does that in front of his father who corrects him. But his son tell me things on my ears and when his father ask what he's saying he responds " I'm telling her how much I love you". A lie.I know it’s h! ard the toddler the fact that his mom is with another guy (in which he ! believes is a friend who his mom likes a lot), the fact that the father had an ex girlfriend who was around him for 1 year and 1/2 and now he has me.My boyfriend and I talk about expending the rest of our lives together and in having babies at some point in the future. I want his son to get used to me and I want to be good to him.I told his son very nicely in front of his father that he cannot tell an adult what to do and his father supported and talked to him. He tries to control his father too. Now, I’d like to know the right approach. What can be done from my part and what can be done from my boyfriend’s part as well. His son first language is Spanish (his parents decided he should learn Spanish 1st) and mine is Portuguese. He doesn’t know English yet so it’s not as easy to communicate with him. I do speak Spanish but with an accent. Should I speak with my boyfriend about it and ask for his help.I don’t have kids myself and it’s not so simple as it’s sounds! .Is it normal for a 3 year old to be so manipulative? Please help me....Show more

Lawanna Livsey: I should have added this before: he is already in a size 6 diaper and weighs 38lbs (big boy) so I cannot go up a size in diapers. He has the rubber mattress pad in case of an accident. His doctor says its normal to wet this much due to how big he his (larger bladder) and that he is a boy (anatomically its easier for a boy to leak at top of diaper than a girl) and due to the fact we have not withheld drinks at bedtime-my fault. Also he has a communication delay so it is too soon to start potty training. Thank you all for your comments thus far!!...Show more

Imogene Neiswander: You could get those stacking blocks, the ones that fit inside eachother. My daughter is just about 3 and she plays with those for hours. She likes to stack them and then knock them down. You could also get the Mega Blocks. The larger shape makes them easier to handle. Anything that they can buil! d and make their minds think and be imaginative would be good! Kids thi! s age love to pretend play!

Idell Dufort: I don't know if the cough has lasted over a week or just the cold. A cough often comes after a cold but if it hangs around then I would go the doctor to check it wasn't a chest infection. Give it a few days though of actual cough that doesn't improve. The humidifier is great, take him into a steamy bathroom, give him vicks vaporub or the equivalent. You can burn oilbas oil or eucyluptus oil in the same room as he is playing in (out of reach obviously). Keep him warm, keep up the fluids etc. It is possible to get childrens cough medicines and I have used them with success on my daughter although medical advise is they don't work so entirely up to you. He is old enough for warm drinks with honey, up his vitamin c etc. The oils or vicks should help to decongest him so he can get it out. Dont' be surprised if the congestion comes down instead of up and he ends up with sloppy slimy bowel movements.Trust your instinct but p! ersonally I would give a cough a good few days to start to improve before I visited a doctor....Show more

Ulrike Hert: Never date someone with kids. This kid will detest you the rest of his life. He wants his mother not some stranger.

Sonya Volcko: i never thought all those "educational " toys were all they are hyped up to be.get the kid some coloring books and books to read together.you cant go wrong with cars and trucks either.my daughter loved them.

Bryan Avinger: I think now.Whenever it effects the child's sleep habits then it is time to go to the doctors.

Carlee Tangaro: Out door toys so they get plenty of sunshine and so they can run. Tonka trucks are good.

Elaina Adolfson: Buy some good toys which they can play with that.

Tamatha Neubaum: Just simple toys.Blocks, old clothes for dress up, wooden train tracks, hobby horse, toys like kitchens, dolls, tool boxes that they can imitate and pretend to be adults with. They dont have to h! ave letters and numbers all over them to be educational, kids learn thr! ough play. Also, could play something different w/ blocks everyday, but video or video game will always be the same. Also, toys dont need to be expensive and flashy, simple ones are oftens kiddie's favourite. (When i was that age, my favourite toy was a little xylophone. )...Show more

Faviola Dewire: My 18 month old son has been sick with a cold for over a week now. His nose is still runny and the past few days he's had a pretty rattly loose cough. It seem to just sit in his throat and you can hear it when he's breathing and can feel his chest rattling. Yesterday he cried/sobbed ALL MORNING! It was awful. And than took a 3 hour nap(not normal for him) and was still cranky and whiney off and on. I don't know how today is going, he's only been up an hour. His appetite is lower than normal, but he is still drinking. So what would you do for the cough? I've been running his humidifier and the pediacare vapor plug at night. I just thought that after 7-10days a cold was ! supposed to be getting better, but it doesn't seem to be. I thought it was getting better, but than it got bad again with the runny nose and cough. There isn't any meds to give him or anything is there? If he could just cough that junk up or something...!...Show more

Renato Abatiell: If he is not getting any better, he may have an infection in his chest or lungs. There is nothing to give over the counter of an 18 month old child. I think that you need to talk to his doctor. Or if you don't have any insurance you could go to your local health dept. I know that some do based on income paying. Good luck!

Garry Ohmen: My son is 2 yrs old and a heavy wetter at night. We have tried night-time diapers but he still leaks. Currently I put in a diaper booster pad in with his diaper at night and this keeps him dry until morning (without a diaper booster pad he soaks through his diaper). My questions is: Do night-time training pants hold more urine than any night-time! diaper? What brand is the best/will hold the most urine? Thanks in adv! ance :)

Joie Libutti: I find Peppa Pig toys to be popular for little ones aged 3 and over. Have you tired those Peppa Pig fun giant playing cards game?
