Westernized (modern) medicine has SO many side effects, they're poisonous, and all they're really doing is sustaining the profits of these big medical industries. The down side is there are so many herbs that are good for more then one thing that people over look the herb that is best suited for their illness and thus never get healed(Sometimes it takes more then one herb and a focus on more then one part of the body). Another good point to back up your question is colloidal silver. It is not bad to use for a short period however over long periods its very bad. The reason is colloidal silver kills all harmful bacteria in the system of your body this is a proven fact. Donald Caravalho: Anytime an effect greater than the placebo effect is warranted. Most alternative medicine is good for comforting the worried well. However, to give you an example you can use....Let's say I have a cough...persistent, has been going on several years, non-productive. Some alt-med boob has determined that it is COPD because I smoked for 30 years or so, decides to prescribe mega-doses of beta-carotene, NAC, Glutathione, bromelain, and a boatload of other enzymes. Only problem is....I don't have COPD; I have lung cancer, and because I smoked 30 years, mega doses of vitamin A cause my cancer to grow much faster than normal - and don't get me started on the rest of that list...So I missed a lot of valuable time when I could have been getting treated with "real medicine" for the real cause of my problems instead of making them worse. Most alternative medicine supporters don't have the slight! est idea how the substances they prescribe work - if they work, and couldn't diagnose anything beyond the most common and simplistic conditions - most do not have access to diagnostic equipment, and rely upon near superstitious methods of diagnosis (Snake pulse? Cold spleen? Really?!?!) And "no side effects"? Please. If a woman if taking St. Johns wart with her birth control and winds up pregnant, I do believe that is called an unwanted side effect.By the way - treating someone with bone cancer with "the Alexander technique" instead of high caliber narcotics is ******* cruel. For instance these types of people completely rely on government agencies to do everything for them.
