Spencer Heidtbrink: i think that this "My daughter lives far enough away so that it is a long distance call" answers this "will I get long distance charges."but actually it would really depend on your calling package... many calling package now includes either a bucket of long distance minutes, or unlimited domestic calling... you need to see what plan you have to determine if there would be any additional charges for making a domestic long distance call, and what those charges might be... as for your phone ringing and you hearing your daughter talking in the background... sounds like her phone "pocket dialed" you... sometimes when your cell phone is in your pocket, it can accidentally dial either someone that you have on speed dial, or the last number that was called, or that called... which is why it is a good idea to put the key lock on your phone when placing it into your pocket.. it would also explain why you could hear her, but she did not respond to you calling out! her name.....Show more
