Rachal Osaki: 1. Are you home schooled?Yes.2. Who's choice was it to begin this form of education?Mine and Mum's. Mum suggested it first and I just said "Yes please". Even when I was officially in school I've al! ways spent so much time in hospital or sick at home that Mum was virtually homeschooling me anyway, so it was a very short step to fulltime, official home education. 3. How many hours of school do you attend a week approximately?Currently none (here in England home educated kids don't "do" any school. We do education but not school. Just to confuse people!) 4. Does social interaction with other teenagers occur often?Yes5. Do you participate in sporting activities on a regular basis? Not at the moment cuz I've not been well enough this year. I was born (almost 14 years ago!!!) with hlhs and tapvd, currently in heart failure and trying to choose between having a second go at the Fontan operation or going on the active transplant list for a heart transplant. In the past I have though. I've done sailing, horse riding, ski-ing, snow boarding, cycling, gym and other stuff in the past. 6. Do you believe this form of education is right for you? Yes.11. Why did you choose this form of education?Because, having done the 11+, I applied for a place at grammar school and all I got offered was a place at a school MILES away from my house. Plus we live in the UK but are not British and Mum was NOT impressed with the way in which UK schools are run compared to schools at home....Show more
Nelly Kikuchi: 1A. Yes, I am currently Homeschooled. 2AandB. 3. I did about 56 hours a week the majority of my high school, but now I'm a senior and I don't have as much. I also take college course classes, so i'm probably doing about 40 hours a week. 4. I have a lot of friends. Some are te! ens and most are 20+. I hang out with them a lot. Most people think teens are socially awkward, I don't know where they get that crap from. We are better at having "normal" conversations with people than those who go to school. Adults have said they enjoy talking to us more because we actually show an interest in the conversation and can make eye contact with them without looking nervous. 5. I did gymnastics for seven years. 6. I have taken a lot of subjects. Right now I'm taking latin, physics, took college algebra at a college and am finished with it, worldview, and several histories. 7B. I teach myself mainly, and my mom occasionally does some stuff with me. 8A. Social interaction is not awkward at all. We're normal. 9. I meet people every which way. It's not like we stay in our house all day, I do a lot of stuff every week. 10A11. I didn't choose this form, my parents did. I think it's been great, you definitely learn a great deal about self motivation and discipline...! .Show more

Joesph Smithmyer: Can i answer your questions all together???I am homeschooled and I used to go to normal school. I chose this and convinced my parents. I do about 25 hourse of schoolwork a week. Sometimes more sometimes a little less. It re! ally depends... If I'm behind my schedule I will work more, if I am on ! track sometimes I give myself a break or get ahead. I see my friends everyday. And I have no social problems. I am a little shy but that has nothing to do with homeschooling. It has actually gotten better since I started homeschool. I use to get really nervous and shy around new people, now not as much. I'm more confident now. School was ruining the way I viewed myself (teachers made me feel stupid and it was to stressful). I do gymnastics 30 hours a week.I do math, science, history, art, Spanish, language arts, technology and health.I teach myself through the Internet and books, my mom sometimes helps.I meet new people through gymnastics and familyYes I love homeschoolI LOVE THR FLEXABILITY AND GRTTING AHEAD SO MUCH! may I ask, what is this for?...Show more
